The problem
Resource Leverage (2X Capability) erodes when it is left to instinct instead of method.
You were taught the moves piecemeal, never the whole model.

Step 1 of 5 · Multiplier Assumptions About Intelligence
Intelligence you assume is fixed you will manage; intelligence you assume is extensible you will grow.
Misconception
Leaders assume that as long as they behave inclusively and ask questions, their underlying belief about who is actually smart doesn't matter.
Reality
People read your assumptions from micro-signals — who you interrupt, whose ideas you build on, when you take over — and those signals override any technique you layer on top. Belief is the upstream variable; behavior is downstream.

Step 2 of 5 · Talent Magnet Discipline
Native genius is what someone does effortlessly and freely — spot it and you find the point of highest contribution.
Misconception
Being a talent magnet means hiring stars and giving them the biggest, most prestigious assignments.
Reality
Magnets attract talent because they use it fully and label it publicly, not because of pay or prestige — and native genius is often the thing a person does easily and freely, which they undervalue precisely because it feels effortless.

Step 3 of 5 · Liberator Discipline
Safety without demand breeds comfort; demand without safety breeds fear — liberation requires both at once.
Misconception
Liberating people means backing off, being nice, and reducing pressure so they feel free to contribute.
Reality
Liberation is intensity plus safety, not comfort — you demand people's best while making it safe to be wrong, which requires more discipline than either being tough or being kind alone.

Step 4 of 5 · Challenger Discipline
Challenges grow intelligence; targets only measure it.
Misconception
Challenging people means setting aggressive targets and holding them to the numbers.
Reality
A challenge is not a quota — it works by helping people see an opportunity they hadn't, then generating the belief that the impossible is achievable, which stretches capability rather than just applying pressure.

Step 5 of 5 · Debate Maker Discipline
A well-run debate produces both a sounder decision and an organization that can execute it.
Misconception
Making debate is about gathering input and building consensus before you decide.
Reality
Debate is not consensus-seeking or a vote — it is a demanding, evidence-driven test of the question that leaves the organization understanding the logic well enough to execute even a decision they didn't personally favor.
